I have lived in the islands since the twentieth century, and want to learn the ropes. I put this under skills learned late in life. I am eager to learn. I have an idea of what is involved. At the start of my career I answered phones at Sail Magazine. I have worked dockside for cruise ships, where I picked up MARSEC training (harbor security). Well versed in astronomy, and specifically fixed stars. This is one of main reasons why I want to get away. I have been on Cape Elizabeth, MA and Lake Champlain, VT, the Walloomsac and Brandywine rivers.
I have a bit of creative streak, both aesthetically and functional. Jury rigging is my game. I have sewn for 20 years and woodworked for 14, tho I have a healthy fear of power tools. I would feel safer in a race; but would consider a return trip crew mate gig. In Hawaii at least I tend to be early to bed and up during the middle of the night.
