Personal
I'm a San Rafael-based sailor with 5,000+ nautical miles under my keel, spanning competitive racing on San Francisco Bay and offshore passagemaking across the Atlantic and Caribbean. I'm excited to be joining Jim Quanci and the Green Buffalo crew for the Pacific Cup, a race I've long viewed as a great test of everything I love about sailing: sustained offshore sailing, teamwork under pressure, and the reward of landfall in Hawaii.
My foredeck experience has been built racing on San Francisco Bay aboard Jarlen (J35), where I've served as bow for regular Friday night races and regattas, including the Rolex Big Boat Series. I'm comfortable with clean spinnaker sets, pole rigging, end-for-end gybes, and keeping the foredeck organized and race-ready under load.
Offshore, I completed a 3,000 NM Atlantic crossing aboard Mona Lisa (Comfortina 42) from Tenerife to Barbados, where I stood regular watch rotations through tradewind conditions, helmed in a variety of sea states, managed reef and headsail changes, and monitored AIS and radar. I've also sailed extensively in the Caribbean aboard a Beneteau 51, handling coastal passages, docking, and guest crew logistics across multiple islands.
I've been sailing since childhood aboard a Hallberg-Rassy 31 that my grandpa sailed solo from Sweden to the US, I have instructed youth sailors in dinghies (Lasers, Picos) and helped co-found a collegiate sailing program. I bring a safety-conscious, team-first attitude to every watch, and I'm genuinely hungry for the challenge the Pacific puts in front of us.
Looking forward to getting out there with the Green Buffalo crew.
