The Pac Cup has been in our sights for about a decade. Surf's double-handed crew have owned, sailed, and worked on various boats together.

Background on Skipper: In my twenties, I bought a boat, and fixed it up with the help of friends. After a few years of exploring the bay, I decided to take a left outside the Golden Gate. From 2016-2018, I sailed from the SF Bay to Indonesia with crew and some solo jaunts. I met my wife along the way and settled back in San Francisco. 

In 2022, had the opportunity to crew on a boat for the Newport Bermuda which exposed me to offshore racing. 

Excited to be offshore again with someone I've sailed with for 20 years. Our goal is to catch a couple of fish along the way.

Qualifying Sail Details

Skipper, Nick Stevenson, and crew, Collin Ackerman, left Sausalito at 13:00 Wednesday May 6 and sailed out of the Golden Gate on west southwest course for approximately 50 nm before tacking to keep north, then tacking seaward again before finally tacking back east toward home. We returned to the dock in Sausalito 14:30 Thursday May 7 have sailed approximately 160 nm. Record track available upon request.
