Docile trainable kindred spirit

I have lived in the islands since the twentieth century, and want to learn the ropes.  I put this under skills learned late in life.  I am eager to learn.  I have an idea of what is involved.  At the start of my career I answered phones at Sail Magazine.  I have worked dockside for cruise ships.  I sew.  Well versed in astronomy, and specifically fixed stars.  This is one of main reasons why I want to get away.  I have been on Cape Elizabeth, MA and Lake Champlain.
